What is the EN 1090 standard?
The EN 1090 standard is a European standard that establishes the requirements for the execution of steel and aluminum structures, covering various phases, from fabrication to assembly, and ensuring that structures meet the highest safety and performance standards. Within this standard, there are 4 execution classes (EXC), with EXC4 being the most demanding in terms of technical requirements and quality control.
What is EXC4?
EXC4 (Execution Class 4) is the highest level of requirement within the EN ISO 1090 standard and applies to structures with critical risks in case of failure, such as large bridges, nuclear facilities and other high-risk infrastructures, whose quality control and safety requirements are extremely stringent.
This is, therefore, an essential certification for the construction of structures in environments with extreme dynamic loads.
